We've read this soil for decades.
Colorado ground behaves in ways that surprise out-of-town crews. We've worked it since 1953 — expansive clay, drainage, frost, all of it.

Nicon Excavating
Family-owned since 1953, Nicon Excavating has grown up alongside the city it helped build.
The story
Nicon Excavating started the way most good excavation companies do: with a truck, a piece of ground, and a reputation to earn. Since 1953, this family-owned company has moved Front Range dirt for the people building Denver — contractors, developers, cities, and homeowners alike.
Today Nicon Excavating operates out of Keenesburg under owner Ted DeKowzan, running a fleet across the metro and taking on everything from commercial site development to residential septic. What hasn't changed in 72 years is the standard: show up, hit grade, and don't cut corners — because everything the next crew builds depends on the ground we leave behind.
“We do it with perfection because it's our passion.”
What sets us apart
Colorado ground behaves in ways that surprise out-of-town crews. We've worked it since 1953 — expansive clay, drainage, frost, all of it.
When it's your family name on the trucks, "good enough" isn't. Ted DeKowzan and family stand behind every job.
A maintained fleet and seasoned operators mean we're ready when your schedule says go.
Septic, sewer, and public infrastructure work carry rules. We carry the licensing to do them right.
